1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how X-Ray Scanner collects, uses, and protects your data when you use our iOS app. We are committed to ensuring your privacy and security while providing AI-powered image transformation with Thermal, Night Vision, and X-Ray filters.
2. Information We Collect
- Photos you upload: Your images are sent to our AI processing servers to generate thermal, night vision, or X-ray filtered versions
- Subscription data: Payment and subscription information managed through RevenueCat (app purchase history, entitlements, device identifiers)
- Analytics data: App usage, crashes, and feature engagement through Firebase Analytics
- Device identifiers: Used to track subscription status and to apply fair-use limits that protect the service from abuse
3. How We Use Your Information
- To process your photos through AI image transformation (Thermal, Night Vision, or X-Ray filter)
- To manage subscriptions and enforce purchase entitlements
- To improve app stability, performance, and user experience
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Data Processing & Storage
- Image Processing: Photos are processed in real-time by Google Gemini AI (via AIProxy) and are not permanently stored on our servers after transformation is complete
- Temporary Storage: Images may be cached temporarily during processing but are deleted immediately after the filtered result is generated
- Subscription Data: Stored securely by RevenueCat on their servers according to their privacy policy
- Analytics: Firebase Analytics collects anonymized usage data and crashes
5. Face Data
Photos you choose to upload may contain faces. We want to be explicit about how this is handled:
- We do not collect, generate, or store face data. The App does not perform face detection, face recognition, face matching, or face tracking. We do not create or store faceprints, face templates, facial geometry, biometric identifiers, or any other mathematical representation of a face.
- No identification: We never use faces in your photos to identify, authenticate, or recognize any individual, and we do not build profiles based on facial characteristics.
- Processing only: When you request a filter, the photo you selected is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to Google's Gemini AI service (via AIProxy) purely as an image. It is processed in real time to produce a stylized artistic result, which is returned to your device.
- Retention: We do not retain your photos. The uploaded image is not stored on our servers after the filtered result is returned. Google processes the image transiently to fulfill the request and does not use it to train its models. Filtered results and originals are stored only locally on your own device in the app's scan history, and are deleted when you delete a scan or uninstall the App.
- Sharing: Face data is never shared with third parties, because we do not collect it. The only third party that receives the photo itself is our AI processing provider (Google, via AIProxy), solely to generate the filtered image, and only for the duration of that request.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or distribute your photos or personal data to third parties for marketing or any purpose other than providing the app's core functionality. Your images are processed solely for generating AI-powered filtered versions.
8. Data Security
- HTTPS encryption: All data in transit is encrypted
- No permanent image storage: Processed images are not retained on our servers
- Local-only history: Your scan history is stored on your device only and never uploaded to us
- Server-side security: Our servers employ industry-standard security measures
9. Children's Privacy
X-Ray Scanner does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years old. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete such information and terminate the child's account.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, review, and delete your data
- Opt out of analytics tracking (through iOS Settings > Privacy > Analytics)
- Delete individual scans from your history at any time, or delete the app to remove all locally stored data
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any material changes will be reflected in the app with a notice. Your continued use of the app after updates constitutes your acceptance of the new policy. We encourage users to review this policy regularly.
